Should Investors Chase the AI-Fueled Surge in Everpure (P) Stock?

Key Takeaways

  • Everpure's stronger AI and hyperscale outlook sparked an 11% rally.
  • Preliminary FY28 guidance points to accelerating revenue and profit growth.
  • However, Everpure's rich valuation may make chasing the surge less attractive.

Everpure (P - Free Report) ) stock spiked 11% on Thursday, finishing as the S&P 500’s top gainer after the data-storage specialist unveiled a much stronger long-term growth outlook at its 2026 Financial Analyst Meeting.

Everpure attributed the opportunity to its expanding exposure to AI and hyperscale infrastructure, outlining four growth areas: Core and Core AI, Modern Data Software, Scale AI, and Hyperscale Solutions.

Year to date, Everpure stock has now soared nearly 90% and is up more than 270% in the last three years to vastly outperform the broader indexes and many of its Zacks Technology Services peers.

What Does Everpure Do?

Formerly known as Pure Storage, Everpure provides enterprise data storage and data-management infrastructure designed to help companies securely store, access, protect, and manage large amounts of information across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Its portfolio includes high-performance FlashArray and FlashBlade storage systems, along with software and subscription-based services that automate data management. Everpure is also expanding beyond traditional enterprise storage into AI and hyperscale data centers, where rapidly growing datasets require faster, more scalable, and energy-efficient infrastructure.

That makes Everpure an increasingly important data-infrastructure play on the AI boom, rather than simply a traditional storage-hardware company.

Everpure’s Preliminary FY28 Outlook Impresses

Notably, Thursday’s rally was fueled primarily by Everpure's preliminary fiscal 2028 guidance, which calls for revenue of $7-$7.3 billion, representing 39%-45% year-over-year growth, and non-GAAP operating income of $1.7-$1.9 billion, up 80%-100%.

The company also reaffirmed its current FY27 revenue guidance of $5.03-$5.07 billion, representing 37%-38% YoY growth, and non-GAAP operating income of $940-$960 million, up 48%-51%.

As shown below, Everpure’s new outlook builds on an already impressive multiyear revenue-growth trajectory.

Everpure’s Valuation Is Getting Expensive

Despite Everpure’s optimistic guidance, the biggest argument against chasing today's surge is valuation.

Everpure stock is now trading over 100X forward earnings and 7X forward sales. In contrast, its Zacks Technology Services Industry averages are at roughly 26X forward earnings and 3X forward sales, respectively.

It’s also noteworthy that Everpure is starting to command a noticeable premium to storage competitors such as NetApp (NTAP - Free Report) ), Dell Technologies (DELL - Free Report) ), and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE - Free Report) ).

Everpure's stronger projected growth arguably warrants a premium, but today's rally has quickly priced in a meaningful portion of management's increasingly optimistic AI and hyperscale outlook.

Bottom Line

Everpure's Analyst Meeting significantly strengthened its long-term growth story, particularly with FY28 revenue potentially exceeding $7 billion and non-GAAP operating income potentially doubling.

Still, after a double-digit one-day surge and with shares trading at a considerable premium to storage and infrastructure peers, investors may not need to chase the rally. Everpure's fundamentals look increasingly compelling, but a pullback or period of consolidation could offer a more attractive entry point.

For now, Everpure stock lands a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), suggesting investors may want to remain patient following the stock's sharp run.
